What is DBMS || Why we need DBMS?

What is a Database?

The database is the collection of the same information which is arranged systematically for future use.

In simple terms, the data of schools, colleges, businesses, etc are collected and form a database for future use.

Why do we need a Database?

We need a database to get information about our work when required. In simple terms, when you running a college, school, or a business, then there is data related to employees, students, teachers, and staff then you have to save their information, and this is known as their data and data related to their field is known as a database.

What is DBMS?

DBMS stands for Database Management System

It is a process or system that manages the database. In simple terms, DBMS allows the users to access the database easily and can update, and delete information from the database.

Why do we need DBMS?

Actually, DBMS is a need for Database, because without DBMS users will have difficulty in accessing the database.

DBMS provides them an environment to access, delete, and update the database because the database is physically stored in files and DBMS is the software that provides us a logical view of data which is in the form of a table in a systematic order.

Therefore, DBMS is a tool through which we can perform several actions on data in the database.

Can you tell it is DBMS software or not?

So, the answer is No- DBMS is not software, because the software is installed on a computer and DBMS is not installed on a computer. DBMS is a domain like in the software industry there are development, and testing teams, in the same way, there is a DBA- Database Admin, who looks after DBMS.
